In 2020 trail usage spiked as much as 300% in some counties in West Michigan with record inquiries about the trails. Specifically, individuals wanted to explore new trails - those that were beyond their back yards. We started the Trail Challenge to encourage trail users to get out and explore trails they had previously not experienced. This virtual event has attracted hundreds of people to check out more of the 40+ trails we have in West Michigan.
